There have been many conversations in relationships that go something like this: “After all I have done for you, you are going to doubt that I love you?” Teens question their parents decisions. Husbands doubt their wives’ love for them. Wives wonder whether their husband truly cares. Some of these may be valid, and some may not. It is subjective and changing. What never changes is God’s love for us. Yet, we still question His love during hard circumstances, suffering, and trials in our lives.

Romans 5:6-11 gives us irrefutable evidence that God loves us. John Stott speaks to the essence of love being giving; “The more the gift costs the giver, and the less the recipient deserves it, the greater the love is seen to be.” In this passage of Romans God shows His love for us as being incredibly great. His love cost Jesus His life. And Paul describes us, the recipients of God’s love, as “weak”, “ungodly”, “sinners”, and “enemies.” This combination proves God’s love is beyond great. God’s love is truly extraordinary, special, and unique. And God’s love is directed toward us!

Come this Sunday to bask in God’s Word concerning His love for us. Also, we will welcome some new members to the church, sing songs of praise, and celebrate communion. See you Sunday!

“For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.” - Romans 5:6
