Think of an event or trip in your life that you looked forward to going so much you couldn’t get it out of your mind. It was so exciting you could not help talking about going. It was so anticipated that even your worst days were made better by imagining you were there. As each month, week, and day drew closer your excitement built. There was an eagerness to go that made you practice patience. This is a part of life for things we look forward to doing. And this has everything to do with glory.

Future glory for us is being with God for eternity. Pure joy. Perfect love. No sin, pain, or suffering. An eternal state of wonder and peace. This is glory. And this is what we, as Christians, look forward to in this life. It is worth eagerly waiting for heaven and patiently enduring the things of this world. Paul understands waiting for glory in the midst of a broken world and wants us to lean into anticipating future glory.

This Sunday we will focus on glory. Let’s gather to sing, pray, hear God’s Word, take communion, and eat with one another. Worshipping together is a privilege and joy! See you Sunday.

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” - Romans 8:18
