We all love hearing people’s stories. Where they came from. What they like to do for fun. How they decided to go into their particular field of work. What God has done in their lives. Stories are amazingly unique and powerful. But we also all have a singular story that unites each of us as humans.

It is the story of how God created us perfectly in His image. This is what I have been preaching on in Genesis over the past few weeks. But it is also the story of how evil, suffering, pain, and death came into the world. It is the story that answers some of the deep questions of life. Like what happened to God’s perfect creation? Or why does life have to be so hard? And why is there so much suffering and pain? Even why do we all die?

Perhaps this is not a pleasant topic for you. Many simply want to be inspired and made to feel good at church. Why do we have to talk about the hard stuff of life? We face the hard realities of life for three reasons: First, because God chose to talk about it in His Word. Second, because it explains the big questions of life. Finally, because we, as Christians, desire to live in reality. Life is difficult and painful. And every life ends in death. We want to know why. We want God’s guidance and plan in light of the realities of life. We want to know if there is hope.

Come this Sunday to hear more about “The Story of The Fall.” Let’s join together to be real about life and celebrate what God has done for us in Jesus! Where there is suffering, God is there to give us hope!

"Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made… And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them." - Genesis 3:1a & 21
