“Social-Distancing.” “Flattening the Curve.” “Zoom.” These are phrases and words I did not know 3 months ago. I learned of another new concept this past week - “Zoom Fatigue.” People get tired on Zoom. People are also tired of Zoom. I get it. It does not feel entirely natural. I have to work harder to communicate. I fight to stay engaged. I look funny to myself on my screen! Can you relate?

What does this have to do with church? With Jesus? With life with one another as Christians? A lot right now! Most everything we are doing in the church is over Zoom. Most importantly the central gathering of any church - our Sunday service. There is some “zoom fatigue” setting in. Let’s just acknowledge the fatigue and frustration. Zoom is good, not great.

But let me encourage you - hang in there. The writer of Hebrews encourages us to fight the urge to not gather with other Christians. The writer gives instruction to support our fellow believers - to stir up one another to love and good works! If Hebrews were written in 2020, the writer would say, “Keep Zooming!” So let’s keep zooming at The Rock. It encourages others to see you in your square! I pray it encourages your soul to sing, pray, fellowship and hear the Word of God. Keep Zooming!

Join us for our Sunday Service at 4:30 pm on Zoom using the invite HERE (or Zoom meeting invite 551-112-403).

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” - Hebrews 10:24-25

Theological Word of the Week:

Marks of the Church

The distinguishing characteristics of a true church. In Protestant tradition, these have usually been recognized as the right preaching of the Word of God and the right administration of the sacraments (baptism and the Lord’s Supper)
