Change is hard. It is never impossible with God’s help, but hard. Usually change and growth in our lives include gaining knowledge, adjusting thinking, rearranging lifestyle choices, and trusting God to take control of our lives. If this sounds easy, you are in the minority! How can we prepare for this kind of change in our lives?
First, we need to gain knowledge. Specifically for the Christian life, we need to gain knowledge from the Bible. Knowledge about God, about ourselves, about the world we live in, and about what is to come. This kind of knowledge is exciting if we truly believe it matters to our lives. It does. Pray you would grow in this way by experience, humble listening, and making a plan to know the Bible.
Second, we must adjust our present thinking. This takes challenging our present beliefs, ideas, and values if they are confronted by God. Jesus did this all of the time in his ministry. Jesus confronted the thinking of religious people who thought they knew how to please God. Jesus gave them experiences that challenged their thinking. By doing this, Jesus led them to change.
Third, an increase in knowledge and change in thinking leads to lifestyle change. The goal of God in the Bible is never for us to remain unchanged in our present lifestyle. God confronts us with ideas in the Bible that we must grapple with. In order to truly be growing, we must submit our lifestyles to God. And then pray for the strength to change and grow.
Finally, we give God control of our lives. This is trusting Him! Pray we could trust God with our circumstances, our relationships, our past, and our future. This kind of trust brings peace. This kind of trust brings joy.

Children's Ministry
We are providing live Sunday School starting Sunday, Sept. 20!
Here is the plan: Children will be with their parents for the singing portion of the service. Children will be dismissed after singing to meet with Cameron and Courtney outside near the playground outside of the auditorium. Cameron will plan a short lesson, have a group activity, and supervise some free play. At the end of the service, Cameron will walk the children back to where we meet. This is 100% voluntary for parents. Your children are also welcome to be with you during the service. We believe this can be done in a safe and organized way. All activities will be outside. Every child will be encouraged to keep their masks on. We will do the best we can to encourage distance.
