Eating clean is a modern desire to eat foods that are natural, unrefined and unprocessed. The goal is to be heathy and natural. People put a lot of thought and energy into getting back to what once was the only way to eat! The Bible has its own form of clean eating. In the Old Testament clean eating meant obeying the dietary guidelines set forth in Leviticus. It was not about health, but about loyalty to God as His separated people. In the New Testament, Jesus changed everything. Jesus declared all foods clean! (Mark 7:19) Then God showed Peter a vision in Acts 10 emphasizing that all foods are clean! Why the change?
The change is our connection with Jesus. Jesus changed the way we show our loyalty to God. Our loyalty is now in belief, not in obeying ceremonial laws. By believing in Jesus, we are made clean. By putting our trust in God’s plan for redemption in Jesus, we are declared righteous. By having faith in the finished work of Jesus, we will have eternal life in heaven with God.
It is no longer about obeying the Old Testament Law. Our passage in Acts this Sunday is crucial for the transition from Old Testament Ceremonial Law to faith in Jesus. I pray we will have a new or increased understanding of the relationship of the Old Testament Law of Israel to us today. It is different. In Jesus, we have shifted from law to grace. In Jesus, we are saved by His righteousness, not ours. In Jesus, we are made whole, complete, and clean. Praise God!

Children's Ministry
We are providing live Sunday School starting Sunday, Sept. 20!
Here is the plan: Children will be with their parents for the singing portion of the service. Children will be dismissed after singing to meet with Cameron and Courtney outside near the playground outside of the auditorium. Cameron will plan a short lesson, have a group activity, and supervise some free play. At the end of the service, Cameron will walk the children back to where we meet. This is 100% voluntary for parents. Your children are also welcome to be with you during the service. We believe this can be done in a safe and organized way. All activities will be outside. Every child will be encouraged to keep their masks on. We will do the best we can to encourage distance.
