Easter is one of the most sacred holidays for the Christian church. The passion week presents some of the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. To fully understand our faith in Jesus we must relive the week leading up to Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection every year! This year is no different. We begin Easter season this week at The Rock.
This Sunday (April 3) is our normal communion week - we will continue in the book of Acts, take communion to remember and prepare our hearts for what is to come, and eat our community communion meal after church. The following Sunday (April 10) is Palm Sunday - we will celebrate Jesus entering into Jerusalem by waving palms and singing songs of joy. That same Sunday we will read from the Bible as a church and sing songs of joy, lament, and hope. Then on Easter Sunday (April 17 at 9:00 am) we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with joy and thanksgiving. We will have coffee & donuts ready at 8:45 am as we join together for a 9:00 am morning service.
Prepare your heart now by thinking about what Jesus has done for us on the cross. And Jesus’s victory over sin and death in the resurrection! Come this Sunday to begin the Easter season.
