When I get home from a trip I love to tell stories. Reminiscing about places I saw, people I met, food I ate, and even things that went wrong remind me of highlights of my journey. We do this all the time in life with our loved ones and friends. Then we start to plan our next adventure! We do this in the church as well. We look back at what God has done and we look forward to our next adventure with God.

This week at The Rock is our annual vision and goals Sunday. I will look back at how God moved at The Rock in 2019. We will consider the goals we set and how God showed up to meet those goals. I will then look forward to 2020. Our leadership team has set some goals that I will share. I will also share exciting ways we are giving to ministries we support. Finally our Board will present the 2020 budget and a new Board member. The we will provide a meal after church to join in fellowship!

Make every effort to be there this Sunday. Also, invite anyone who wants to know more about The Rock! This Sunday sets the tone for the upcoming year. We will be encouraged about what God has done. We will get excited about the work He has for us in the upcoming year.

"And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles." - Acts 14:27

Children's Ministry

This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of Jesus bringing a widow's son back to life, found in Luke 7:11-17. The kids will learn the Bible point "Jesus is compassionate, so we're compassionate." Kids can't bring people back to life like Jesus did, but they can show compassion. Receiving compassion is life-giving in a different way. Jesus' heart overflowed with compassion just at seeing the widow's pain. We want to help kids develop hearts that notice and feel others' pain.
