PLEASE NOTE: SUNDAY SERVICE TIME IS 3:30
I’m pretty tired of politics. I understand the need to be engaged. I’ve been passionate about some issues. I felt patriotic yesterday watching the inauguration. But I’m tired. I’m tired of the infighting. I’m tired of the hypocrisy. I’m tired of the media’s stronghold on our emotions. I believe it is time for sober reflection, possible reformation, and some intentional resting in God.
We should take some time to reflect on how this latest political cycle has impacted us. It is easy for politics to become a sneaky idol (as all idols are). Have reading articles, listening to podcasts, scrolling on social media, and/or talking (fighting) with friends and family caused you to drift from God? Is your heart more inclined to protect your political opinions more than your biblical opinions? Has your joy been based on what happens in politics during the week (or year)? These are some questions to reflect on in these days following the inauguration.
Upon reflection, we may also need to reform. We may need to come back to healthy spiritual patterns, thoughts, and disciplines. More prayer, less outrage. More Bible reading, less scrolling. More fellowship, less CNN or FOX. More serving, less article sharing. The Holy Spirit will lead and guide us into truth. The Holy Spirit will give us healthy spiritual practices. We must yield to God and let Him lead us.
Finally, you may simply need to rest in God. Rest in His goodness. Rest in His peace. Rest in His wisdom. Rest in His love. Start now. Continue by meeting this Sunday for worship!

We are providing live Sunday School!
Here is the plan: Children will be with their parents for the singing portion of the service. Children will be dismissed after singing to meet with Cameron and Courtney outside near the playground outside of the auditorium. Cameron will plan a short lesson, have a group activity, and supervise some free play. At the end of the service, Cameron will walk the children back to where we meet. This is 100% voluntary for parents. Your children are also welcome to be with you during the service. We believe this can be done in a safe and organized way. All activities will be outside. Every child will be encouraged to keep their masks on. We will do the best we can to encourage distance.
