The COVID-19 coronavirus has rocked our world. Each of our personal patterns has changed in the last week. Our daily lives simply look radically different. Work. School. Home. Social. Church. Everything has changed. How we respond as a church is dependent on each of us as individuals. Each one of us makes up the church, so each one of us is responsible for how we connect as a church while we cannot physically meet together. Here are some crucial ways we must band together and act:

1) Commit to one another to meet digitally on Sundays - As we get up to speed we will ramp up how we will meet. This coming Sunday, March 22 we will send out a link in an email with a video sermon and a compilation of songs from Paul. The following Sundays we will meet “live” on the Zoom App. We will provide instruction and training starting next week.

2) Commit to Zoom meetings - Our first test meetings on Zoom will be a Men’s Meeting on Monday, March 23 at 8:00 pm and Rock Prayer on Tuesday, March 24 at 7:30 pm. After that, we will determine what meetings will meet via Zoom. We commit to helping EVERYONE get trained and make it as user friendly as possible.

3) Commit to regular giving/tithing to The Rock - Just because we can’t gather in person physically, does not mean that we will stop being the church. To make that happen, we must continue with our faithful/sacrificial giving. Since we cannot just drop money into the offering plate you can give one of two ways. First, by simply mailing your check to 1601 N Sepulveda Blvd., #770, Manhattan Beach CA 90266. Second, by giving though our online platform by clicking here. Thank you in advance for your faithfulness.

4) Commit to connecting with one another - Connect via Zoom in small groups. Connect with one another via text, call, or FaceTime. I will continue to “visit” you by text, phone, or FaceTime as well. Stay connected!

We will get through this together with God’s help. My prayer is we would do it in a way that we show the love of Jesus to one another regularly, consistently, and fully!

Theological Word of the Week:

Marks of the Church

The distinguishing characteristics of a true church. In Protestant tradition, these have usually been recognized as the right preaching of the Word of God and the right administration of the sacraments (baptism and the Lord’s Supper).
