Has anyone ever told you that '“you are out of your mind?!” I imagine we have all been told that jokingly. For example, I plan on covering two chapters of Acts in this Sunday’s sermon. Someone, based on my past record, may tell me, “You are out of your mind!” (It may or may not be a joke - ha!) But has anyone ever told you that “you are out of your mind” in all seriousness? Told you that you are legitimately crazy for something you have done? Or even for something you believe.? Paul is told he is “out of his mind” because of his belief in Jesus in Acts 26.

A influential and powerful Roman leader, Festus, tells Paul he is crazy. This is a reflection of the world’s values regarding the Christian’s supernatural belief in Jesus and the resurrection. We are confronted by people in the world in this way as well. Maybe it is not always to our face, but the sentiment is there. We face it when the world mocks Christians for standing for biblical morality. We face it when friends choose not to invite us to events filled with immorality. We face it when we choose Jesus over many idols that the world embraces.

This Sunday we come to the end of the trials of the Apostle Paul. I will cover two chapters in Acts honing in on why Festus calls Paul crazy. We get to be together for worship, prayer, Bible teaching, and fellowship. I look forward to it!
